April 1, 2005

April Fuel's Day 2005

Four new Evolve sites opened on the Gold Coast at Robina, Ashmore, Nerang and West Burleigh on April 1, 2005.

The four IFS Service Stations sold ethanol-blended fuels for 9.2 cents a litre from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Cars cued for up to 5 kilometres in various directions from all the stations.

To deal with the huge response, the stations started processing cars from 6.45. At 9.00 staff marked the end of the line and honoured the discount to all cars in the line, finishing up to two hours later.

Cars cued for hours to receive the ethanol blend fuel at 9.2 cents per litre.
